Oil on a wooden panel, 71x71cm.
From the Being Amongst the Winged series, Soft Flutter of Wings evokes the delicate presence of unseen companions in air and thought. A haze of pale blues and greys drifts across the canvas, punctuated by gestural marks and fleeting bursts of colour—orange, yellow, green—that suggest movement, memory, or murmured flight. The central lightness draws the eye inward, as if into a clearing or a moment of stillness between wingbeats. This painting is a quiet invocation of the ethereal, where atmosphere becomes touch and silence hums with life.
Yesterday a butterfly
Came floating gently through the sky.
He soared up through the atmosphere
Then drifted close enough to hear.
I said, “I’d love to fly with you
And sail around the way you do.
It looks like it would be such fun
To fly up toward the summer sun.
