hope, forever on the wing
hope forever by ashar

oil on a wooden panel 41x41cm.
Hope Forever on the Wing
A pale gradient of cream and blue stretches across the board like early sky. Fine, red-brown lines traverse the surface—branching, intersecting, drifting—suggesting flight paths, memory traces, or the quiet architecture of longing. On one side, a cluster of colour—green, yellow, black—gathers in organic tension, while on the other, vertical structures rise like scaffolds or ladders. The painting holds a delicate balance: between stillness and motion, fragility and persistence—a quiet testament to hope—always moving, always aloft.

When Hope but made Tranquillity be felt—
A Flight of Hopes forever on the wing
But made Tranquillity a conscious Thing—
And wheeling round and round in sportive coil
Fann'd the calm air upon the brow of Toil— STC

I use oil pastels, oil sticks, markers, scrapers, charcoal, and pigment sticks, as well as newspaper and graphite, to make marks that fit the moment.
UV protected, signed on the back. The work is on a plywood panel and is ready to hang. No further framing is needed.
